First-ever YogCon secures Twitch sponsorship
Inaugural live event from Yogscast to offer 40 hours of online livestreams
LONDON – June 6, 2019 – Twitch, the leading service and community for multiplayer entertainment, has been announced as the headline sponsor of the inaugural YogCon, the first ever live event from Yogscast, the award-winning collective of content creators and game streamers. The event will take place the 3rd and 4th of August in the Yogscast’s home city of Bristol.
YogCon - Powered by Twitch is the first ever weekend of live shows, panels, community events, and gaming from Yogscast. After tickets for the festival sold out in minutes, the festival is featuring two dedicated Twitch channels with 40 hours of live-streamed content from YogCon, letting fans be part of the event wherever they are.
YogCon will bring together almost all of Yogscast’s creators to one venue, promising fans a wealth of special content including live versions of favourite shows, a Yogscast live band, and a first-ever live podcast. The event will also feature “world’s biggest pub quiz,” which will allow fans at home to compete via Twitch, and a launch of the Jaffa Space Agency in real life, five years after its fan-favourite series, Moonquest, sent a rocket to the moon in Minecraft.
A key Twitch partner since 2014, Yogscast first teamed up with the company for the launch of the Jingle Jam fundraiser, now a prominent annual charity event in the gaming community. Jingle Jam reaches more than 8 million people each year and has raised an incredible $15 million for causes over the last 8 years. Yogscast’s main Twitch channel now has over 800,000 followers.
As part of its sponsorship of the event, the Twitch stage will be the focal point of the weekend. Twitch will also have its own lounge for meeting with existing Twitch streaming partners and potential partners.
“We’ve wanted to do a live event for fans for years, so we’re excited it’s finally happening,” said Lewis Brindley, Co-Founder of Yogscast. “It’s going to be a big weekend of shows, panels, and events for fans, and we’re going to bring that to gamers worldwide on Twitch.”
“Twitch has long supported Yogscast, so we’re delighted they have helped make our first-ever YogCon possible,” said Mark Turpin, CEO of Yogscast. “We’ve met Yogscast fans at gaming events around the world and listened to what the fans want in the creation of our own thing. We’re going to make this an unforgettable weekend.”
YogCon is organised and represented by Yogscast’s sister company, the fast-growing influencer marketing agency, Fourth Floor Creative (www.fourthfloorcreative.co), focused on bringing creators and brands together.
